YHA’s are good places to stay. As remote as it gets, accessible on foot only from Ennerdale or via Black Snail Pass (great name) from Wasdale, head to YHA Black Sail places you close to the heart of the wilderland Lake District.
Many walks in the Lake District involve rugged terrain, so kit yourself out well with wet and windproof gear, good boots or walking shoes.
